Kojie-san Cleanser Toner

Hi there! I’m back! It’s been awhile since I posted my last review here. Been busy with my love life (just kidding!). But yeah it’s true! But being busy doesn’t mean I’m not taking care of my skin especially my face. So here’s another review of mine.

After using my 2nd bottle of Eskinol and Belo Essentials Hydrating Toner which I didn’t used up  the entire bottles. I decided to go for a different brand. So I decided to go for Kojie San’s toner plus cleanser. The reason of choosing this is because I don’t want to go for a whitening toner anymore. Well, i don’t know ironically my main reason of using toner is to eliminate my pimples, cleanse my face and diminish those nasty and stubborn blemishes caused by my effin pimples.

6 reasons why you should use facial toner

Dr. King explains all of the toner benefits:

It shrinks pores.
Applying a small amount of toner, like Nelsons Pure & Clear Balancing Toner ($10.95 atNelsons Pure and Clear), to a soft cotton ball or pad and gently blotting and wiping your face with it will remove oil and give the appearance of smaller pores.

It gives your skin pH balance.
Our skin is naturally acidic, normally with a pH balance of between five and six. After cleansing, due to the alkaline nature of soap, the pH balance of skin gets disturbed. When this happens your skin needs to work overtime to restore the balance (and that may result in oil), but using a toner helps to restore this balance quickly.

It adds a layer of protection.
Toners can help close pores and tighten cell gaps after cleansing, thus reducing the penetration of impurities and environmental contaminants into the skin. It can even protect and remove chlorines and minerals present in tap water.

It moisturizes.
Some toners are humectants, which means that they help to bind moisture to the skin.

It refreshes skin.
Toner can also be used in lieu of washing your skin when it’s oily or dirt. It will leave your skin revitalized, even when you’re on-the-go.

It can prevent ingrown hairs.
Toners containing glycolic or other alpha hydroxy acids can help to prevent ingrown hairs, so it also aids in grooming.

Kojie-san Cleanser Toner

We swear by the power of this toner. It easily lightens the skin with regular use. It has a dual action formula that is made from Panax Ginseng, which cleanses and tones the skin. Best to use at night after a long day to flush skin impurities.

 Kojie San's Cleanser+ Toner.

(Above is the photo of the Kojie San’s Cleanser+ Toner. That is my dog Bubbles btw in the background. LOL!!)

Pro’s:

  • I like the packaging of the toner. It’s kinda looks CUTE.
  • I like the smell of this toner too. Not too strong.
  • It is refreshing on the face.
  • It cleanses my face. My basis is how dirty my cotton pad/ball is.
  • Affordable. There are 2 sizes. I bought the small one it costs 43 pesos. It somehow goes a long way. It depends how much you put on your face.
  • Readily available on almost all drugstores and supermarkets.

Con’s:

  • I don’t know if it really helps in lightening my blemishes.
  • I think this toner is just merely for cleansing your face
  • There might be a stinging sensation especially if you have open wounds or pimples on your face.

Overall Rating:  3/5

Will I purchase it again? I’m not sure. I might look for other toners. Right now I’m thinking of going for Celeteque or other toners once I used up the entire bottle.

🙂

**Update: Hi guys!! As of now I’m sticking to this toner and for months haven’t changed my toner. Since my tretinoin cream and vitamins helped a lot on  my acne and post-acne issues I don’t have plans of changing my toner . I’m cool with this. I don’t want to opt for expensive ones that doesn’t deliver great results.

Eskinol Spot Less White

So here is my partial review of this product which is Eskinol Spot Less White. I know Eskinol is one of the toners or let’s say astringents known here in the Philippines. I remember the ad of this product wherein its endorser way back when I was a kid is the famous actress Vilma Santos. From what I remember, my mom had use this before. A trusted brand since 1945 and the pioneer of Facial Care in thePhilippines, Eskinol remains to be the #1 and will continue to grow the Deep Cleanser segment.

Eskinol Spot Less White Facial Deep Cleanser (with Pure Calamansi Extract)

Eskinol Classic White Facial Deep Cleanser Spot-less White 450x450_tcm103-367856

Eskinol Facial Deep Cleansers contain Micro-cleanse Anti-Bacterial Formula that removes pimple-causing dirt left from washing with soap. It also removes excess oil and make-up to make your skin truly clean. Use Eskinol Facial Deep Cleanser and avoid pimples and other skin problems from coming back.

It claims to whiten and reduce dark spots or blemishes as early as 1 week.

I’ve read blogs and reviews on this most of them saying it is effective.

Partial verdict:

Compared to Gluta C toner this seems to clean my face better. I just noticed my cotton has accumulated more dirt when I use the Eskinol than Gluta C. I like the smell of this toner it is not too strong with a Citrus hint (since it has Calamansi Extract). It doesn’t dry that much too. Very affordable for 29 Php or close to 30 bucks for the small bottle. You can find this in any drugstores or leading supermarkets.

For the whitening part? I might give this a week or two. I have fair skin though. My indication for this would be my pimple marks and blemishes if it would lighten or remove it totally.

The downside might be its alcohol content but I don’t think I might be bothered by that.  I mean most toners have alcohol in it.

*update on this will be posted. Soon.

**Update as of 06\12\15– It’s been a long time since I last used this. After this I used the other variant, which is the Eskinol Classic White Facial Deep Cleanser but it didn’t help on my acne. As you all know I’m only using Kojie San Toner + Cleanser now.

Gluta-C Intense Whitening Toner

I have been using Gluta- C for months now.  I started with their whitening soap. I was a bit impressed since the soap works quite well on me. So I was convinced to try this other product that they have which is their toner.

 Gluta-C Intense Whitening Toner

gluta_c_toner

It is made of natural plant extracts such as witch hazel and mangosteen, which have antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-aging properties.

The toner gently cleanses the face of impurities and effectively removes residual makeup. It helps smoothen the skin’s texture by controlling oil production, minimizing pores and moisturizing the skin.

Why Do I Need to Use Gluta-C’s Toner?

It conditions the skin for the deeper and faster absorption ofGluta-C Facial Day Cream with SPF 25 or Facial Night Serumto achieve maximum results.

Other Product Benefits

  • Gently cleanses residual dirt after basic cleaning
  • Oil control
  • Minimizes pores
  • Refreshes the skin
  • Anti-bacterial
  • Anti-fungal
  • Anti-acne

Apply Gluta-C Whitening Toner anytime, anywhere so your skin stays fresh, clean and fair all day.

Well, just looking at the benefits and its key ingredients why would you not buy this. Plus, I’ve been reading blogs about the ” witch hazel” toners which it seems to be good on the face especially if you’re suffering from acne. Not only that it has the whitening properties too.

My Verdict?

It does somehow cleanses my face. I have that sticky feeling when first applied to my face. I’m not sure if it really does it job in lightening my pimple marks. The smell is quite acceptable.

Update on this product. I might not repurchase this since it doesn’t seem to  suit me. I mean it seems to make my skin oily when I woke up in the morning. It doesn’t seem to lighten my pimple marks. Actually my pimple marks had lighten only because of the Cyleina Soap I think. What i purchase is the Eskinol Spotless C with Calamansi Extract( will make a  partial review on this too).
